Jimmy Scott was born in 1925 with a rare genetic disorder called Kallmann syndrome, which is caused by a deficiency in GnRH (Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone). Though he never was able to grow facial hair, it did allow him to have a high contralto voice that rings as clear as a bell — never spoiled by the onset of puberty. And he’s been featured in Twin Peaks by David Lynch.
